Kate Welsh | KW Ceramics

I’m Kate Welsh, a ceramic artist based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. My work focuses on minimalist, handcrafted ceramics that balance modern design with the tactile joy of handmade craftsmanship. I believe in the harmony between art and function, and every piece I create is designed to enhance daily life while celebrating the beauty of the handmade.

My sculptural work, alongside functional ceramics, explores themes surrounding identity, emotions, and the human experience. These pieces are an extension of my curiosity about how form, texture, and material can carry meaning, offering a space for reflection and connection.

My journey as a ceramic artist is deeply rooted in the Waterloo Potters’ Workshop community. Being part of this vibrant environment has been an invaluable source of inspiration and collaboration, allowing me to refine my skills, learn from fellow artists, and share my passion for the craft.

Whether functional or sculptural, each piece I make is an invitation to slow down, engage the senses, and connect with something made with care and intention.
